V-Series Double Pumps: Versatility and Flow Management

A double pump, commonly referred to as a tandem pump, incorporates two distinct pumping units within a single housing, operated by a single input shaft. Each unit features its own inlet and outlet connections and can be set up with separate controls (such as pressure compensators or load-sensing mechanisms). This design allows a single power source to supply two separate hydraulic circuits or to combine flows for high-volume demands.

    Key Application Areas

    Complex Mobile Machinery: This is a main use for double pumps. For instance, in a small excavator, one part of the pump can be used for the travel motor, and the other part can handle the arm, boom, and swing movements on its own. This allows for simultaneous operation (e.g., driving and lifting) without the flow drop-offs typical of a single pump system using a directional control valve.
    Advanced Plastic Processing Machinery: In larger injection molding machines or extruders, a double pump setup is highly efficient. One section operates at high pressure during the injection phase, while the second, larger section runs at lower pressure to enable high volume output for rapid mold closing and screw recovery, which significantly reduces cycle times and energy consumption. 
    High-Production Stamping and Forming Presses: Double pumps work well for presses that do many things. One part of the pump handles the main cylinder, which needs a lot of pressure. The other part can run things like part ejectors, hydraulic cushions, or material feeders. Each part works on its own, so they don’t interfere with each other. This helps control each part exactly as needed.
    Agricultural Machinery: Today's tractors and combines use two pumps to take care of many different tasks. One pump is responsible for steering, which is very important for safety, while the other pump handles actions like lifting the tools, controlling the power take-off clutch, or operating other extra attachments. This setup helps the machine work smoothly no matter how much it's carrying or how hard it's working.
